These are materials that I used with my AP Language & Composition class. Whenever there was a big local election or a presidential election, I would use that as an opportunity to teach logical fallacies and appeals. It was always a good time to analyze these things in a real world setting.
First I would teach fallacies and appeals (ethos, pathos, logos) and then I would have the kids analyze a debate and write a compare contrast paper. Materials are below.
